Spotted Gum is a highly desirable timber, particularly for its striking back sawn grain structure, attractive and vibrant colour palette from creams, to light and rich browns.  Spotted gum is a large native hardwood that is grown along the NSW coastal strip into Queensland. The word “spotted” refers to large spot like features that form on the tree as it sheds its bark in strips. Its attraction is added to with Spotted Gums hardness rating of 11 which makes it very appealing as a hard wearing timber.
